Elemental Armour

'Something cannot be defended if those around it are afraid of change.' - William Grayfil, CEO of Defend Tech.
Elemental Armour has existed is some form or another since the Age of Armament, although the exact date of its creation is unknown. The original version was little more than upgraded medieval-esque armour (and, so, couldn't defend against attacks much stronger that claw swipes) and it has been upgraded considerably over the years.

The first major change came in the beginning of the Time of Banishment where it was made considerably lighter and stronger using an alloy of steel and traces of swifore. In addition, a heavier and more defensive version of the Armour was developed at around the same time by increasing the ratio of swifore to other metals.

Then, halfway through the Great War, a new discovery was made. Element Gems (crystals that have the power to absorb a set amount of Elemental Energy) could now be inserted into the Armour and, so, their defending capabilities were increased dramatically.

The final change came with the creation of the Elemental Changer in, approx, 1434 AR. This device, coupled with the Element Gems, enabled the armour to change Element and, therefore, benefit from the inherent defensive capabilities of the various Elements. For example, before going into the Inferno Planes, the Elemental Armour's Element would be changed to Earth or Water so as to gain a benefit from the intrinsic Elemental advantages over Fire that these Elements have.

Of course, with the constant need for better defensive capabilities, the Elemental Armour is continuously being developed and improved upon and, so, I expect that this creation will stay around, in one form or another, for many, many years.
