The Legacy of O.U.T.L.A.W.S.: No. 2 The Team

Fam and Gedrick walked through a tall glass door into a huge entrance hall full of Elementals of varying size and depiction. The ceiling was high, so as to easily fit even the largest of Elementals (ogres, trolls and the like) and the walls were far apart so that the whole hall gave the impression of power and supremacy. As well as the glass door that Fam and Gedrick had just entered through, there were dozens of alcoves along the top of the left and right walls. These alcoves were entrances to the hall and had an almost continuous flow of Air Elementals (either messengers or agents) entering the building. On the other side of the hall was a desk that ran about half the length of the wall. The desk was covered in various screens and computers, each handled by a different Elemental. Behind the desk was a massive map depicting the Element Island in impressive detail. On either side of the desk was another door that led to a series of corridors and other rooms. In the middle of the floor was the symbol of the O.U.T.L.A.W.S.: a circle with a question mark and the acronym on it (as well the Elemental's ten pointed star). As the pair walked past it they noticed the ever-present colours of the Elements reflecting off of the polished surface of the floor.

They reached the desk and were met by a rather bored looking saytress. "Where's your badge?" she asked, disdainfully.
"Right here, Alice," replied Fam, joyfully, showing her badge (the symbol of the O.U.T.L.A.W.S. with a six on the right and a five on the left, depicting her rank and team, and her name (Faliyodrim Peacelyre, for that was her full name, above it). Gedrick did the same, only his badge was a bit grubbier and had his name (Gedrick Stonebreaker) on it.
"Agents Fam and Gedrick returning from a three day hunt for the outlawed troll Fatre 'Broken' Jike. Mission status: completed. 1000 credits transferred to your accounts, please head to room five on the right."
"Not even a 'thank you' or 'well done', then?" asked Fam, playfully.
"You'll get a well done once you've saved the world and no sooner," replied Alice, without a hint of sarcasm.
"I think we'll keep you up on that," Gedrick muttered, starting to walk towards the right hand doors.
They walked through the doors and down a corridor before turning right and entering door number five. As soon as they entered the team's room/laboratory they were met by a large floating robot. The robot was spherical with an 'eye' on his front. INFOS (which stood for Intelligent Navigation Flying Operating System) was printed on the opposite side.
"Welcome back!" the robot had a masculine voice "Make yourselves at..." the voice changed to be cracked and staticy "Your late, why are you back so late?..." the robot recovered itself and the voice went back to normal "Not that that matters, make yourself at home."
"Why, thank you, INFOS," said Fam, walking over to a table in the far right of the room. Gedrick went over to a sofa on the left and sat down (after pouring himself a drink of mead from the barrel he kept next to the seat, of course).
"Exalndria!" called Fam, melodically, "Are you there?"
"Yes, wait a moment!" replied a voice from beneath the table "I'm almost done!"
Fam looked over the top of the table to see a deep hole. A square was steadily making its way up to the top. Once the square (actually an eight foot tall elevator) reached the top a tall woman stepped from behind the table and went round to hug her friend.
"Welcome back," said the woman. She looked towards Gedrick "You too, Gedrick." He nodded in acknowledgement.
"How's your latest project going, old friend?" asked Fam.
"Good, good," she paused, realising what Fam had just said, "But, I'm not old! At least not as old as you!" replied Exalndria, her brown eyes lit up with a wonder that could not be sated. She had brown hair that ended just before her ears and light complexion as a result of all her time underground in her lab. Her clothes, however, didn't give away her role as the technician of the team; she was wearing pristine white top that covered her arms along with white gloves, white trousers and white shoes. The cleanliness of her clothes was a result of another of her inventions which also made the fabric as light as silk and tough as steel. Exalndria was a lexarch - a species of super-intelligent humanoid Knowledge Elementals which had almost been wiped out.
"True, true," replied Fam, nodding, "Anyways, the mission was a success and 1000 credits have been transferred to both of our accounts. Of course, you and Orpos will be getting a share as well," she paused, looking around "Actually, where is Orpos?"
"I'm not sure," replied Exalndria "INFOS, do you know?"
"I'm afraid not, milady... not that I should know... I haven't seen him,"
Fam shrugged, "Oh well, I suppose I'd best get on with that drinking contest I promised Gedrick..."
"Oh, no you don't," said a voice from the doorway, the creature it came from casting a shadow into the room, "We've got another mission."
